Dusty Cowell
Senior Pastor
Dusty has been married to his wife Debbie for over 30 years. They met in college while involved in a campus ministry. They have three grown daughters. Dusty enjoys long walks in the woods, golf and riding his motorcycle. When his girls moved out, he adopted a brown and white Border Collie, his daughter named him Baxter.
Dusty graduated from Central Seminary in 1992 and has served churches in Idaho, Oregon, Kansas, and Indiana.
Lisa Schwingender
Director of Music
My Mom was a great musical influence while I grew up here at Federated Church. She directed the handbell and children’s choir. Music has been an integral part of my life. After graduating from Ball State University (where I majored in music). I went on to teach music (K-12 band and choir) for 30 years in the school corporations. I am happily married to Keith Schwingendorf. We have three beautiful children. Jessica, Ryan and son-in-law Jack.

Gary Tyner
Organist
I have been blessed to serve as Federated’s organist since 2002. Previous travels have allowed me to perform at a variety of churches, military chapels, and Christian retreats over the years. Those fond memories help me appreciate the opportunity to continue my music ministry with my wonderful Federated Church family now and, hopefully, for years to come.
Joyce Francis
Administrative Assistant
For the past four years, I have enjoyed working at Fedeated Church. The building is beautiful, but the people are much more so. This job is challenging and so rewarding! I have been married for 29 years and we have two daughters. Our little puppy, Wyatt, enjoys a lot of attention since our girls moved on with their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking in our woods, crocheting and gardening.
Jenaiah Michael
Financial Secretary
I am a CPA in Kansas City, MO where I live with my husband of 17 years, Nathan, and our 5 cats. I have been a visiting member of Federated most of my adult life, coming to church with my parents, Orlo & Jillaine Shoop, whenever I would come home to visit. Since Federated started streaming services, I have become a regular member with the online community. In my spare time, I enjoy quilting, baking, and spoiling my cats.
